Delete your account
Last updated: 7 August 2026
You can delete your GymDIY account and the data attached to it at any time. There are two ways to do it — one inside the app, one by email if you no longer have the app installed.
Option 1 — In the app (immediate)
Open GymDIY and go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm. Once you do, the deletion runs straight away — you do not have to email us or wait for us to action it.
Option 2 — By email
If you have already uninstalled the app, lost access to your device, or would simply rather not do it yourself, email support@gymdiy.fit from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account.
We use the sending address to confirm the request is yours, so please write from the account email. We will confirm once it is done, and in any case within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- Your account and sign-in credentials — you will not be able to log in again
- Your email address and display name
- Your profile: goal, experience level, age, sex, body weight, and any injuries or limitations you recorded
- Your equipment list, including custom equipment you described or photographed
- Every program generated for you, and the weeks and workouts inside them
- Your workout history — sessions, sets, reps, loads and effort ratings
- Your personal records
- Scheduled workout reminders and any notification registrations
What we keep, and why
Records we are legally required to retain. Purchase and refund records tied to a subscription are kept for tax and accounting purposes. These are financial records, not training data, and they are not linked back to a profile once the account is gone.
Your app store subscription. Deleting your GymDIY account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store — only the store can do that. Cancel it in Google Play → Subscriptions or App Store → Subscriptions before deleting, otherwise it will keep renewing. If you have already deleted your account and a subscription is still running, email us and we will help you stop it.
Backups. Deleted data can persist in encrypted database backups for a short period before those backups age out. It is not accessible in the product and is not used for anything.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete everything to remove a specific item. Equipment can be removed from Equipment → Edit, and a program can be deleted from the Program screen, without touching the rest of your account. For anything else — a correction, an export, or removal of one particular record — email support@gymdiy.fit.
