Equipment-aware AI training

The workout app that actually knows your gym

Every other app asks what equipment you have — then prescribes exercises you can't do. GymDIY builds your entire program around the exact gear you own: your cables, plates, bands and machines. No improvising. No "close enough."

The home-gym problem

Generic apps were built for commercial gyms

So they hand you a program full of exercises your setup can't run — then leave you to swap, guess, and hope you didn't just wreck the whole plan.

Exercises you can't do

It prescribes a leg-press machine you don't own — and the substitution you pick quietly breaks the program's balance.

Loads that don't exist

"Add 5 lb" — but your cable stack jumps in 10s and your smallest plate is 25. So progression becomes a guessing game.

You become the algorithm

You spend more time editing the plan around your gear than actually training. The app works against you, not with you.

The GymDIY difference

Equipment intelligence, not equipment checkboxes

GymDIY builds a model of your actual gym — every station, ratio and increment — and an AI head coach designs programs that respect it down to the plate. Safety and feasibility checks run on every exercise before it ever reaches you.

  • Knows your cable math

Understands 2:1 vs 4:1 pulley ratios and effective load, so prescribed weights are real, not theoretical.

  • Loads to your increments

Progresses in the steps your plates, dumbbells and stacks actually allow — every jump is achievable.

  • Never prescribes the impossible

If your gear can't run an exercise, it never appears. No swapping, no broken programs.

  • Adapts as your gym grows

Add a band or a new attachment and your future programs use it automatically.

Questions

Frequently asked

How is GymDIY different from Fitbod or other AI workout apps?

Most apps ask which equipment you have, then ignore the details. GymDIY models your actual gym — cable pulley ratios, plate increments, band tensions, machine stations — and builds every program around what you can actually load and perform. It never prescribes an exercise your equipment can't do.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No — the free tier never asks for one. If you start the 14-day Premium trial on the web, you don't need a card up front either; we only collect payment before the trial converts. Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app work differently, because Apple handles the billing: they use the payment method on your Apple ID and renew automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand.

Does it work for a minimal or budget home gym?

Yes. Whether you have a single adjustable dumbbell and a band or a full rack with a cable stack, GymDIY builds a complete, progressive program around exactly what you own — and adapts as you add gear.

Can I use it in a commercial gym too?

Absolutely. Map the equipment you use and GymDIY treats it the same way — feasible exercises, real loads, sensible progression.

What does it cost?

There is a generous free tier. Premium is $14.99/month or $99.99/year (about $8.33/month), with a 14-day free trial. On the web, no card is required to start the trial. In the iOS app, Apple bills the subscription through your Apple ID and it renews automatically unless you cancel.
